My brother recently returned from his trip to Europe, it was a two-week vacation. Within that time the news cycle has been moving so fast that he is seemingly out of the loop. Hell, I stopped paying attention to the news over Memorial Day weekend and I feel like I lost track of what is going on.
I feel like this is a testimony to the insanity that is the Trump administration. Everything this man does and says within a short period of time can completely shift what is being reported on by the news.
For those of you just tuning in, son-in-law Jared Kushner is now being investigated for potentially trying to set up a private line to Putin, and somehow Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen is now a suspect in this weird investigation. Film to be directed by Oliver Stone sometime in the near future (just kidding.)
That isn’t the only thing that is happening though, rumors of the U.S. pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement are swirling. Apparently Trump’s visit to Europe went well, despite what anyone other than Trump may think.
He is also accusing German president Angela Merkel for trying to weaken the Euro, and be a currency manipulator. A similar observation he has made of China. Unlike China, Trump might actually be onto something here. Considering that Germany has a substantial savings that some people find problematic.
Also, apparently Trump and Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte have a budding bromance. Which is problematic considering that Duterte is a ruthless murderer.
Maybe the most disturbing is that internet privacy is a thing of the past, it was quietly passed on March 23. Internet providers can now freely sell your information without your permission. Funny that the Republican Party would be the party to propose and pass this. Especially considering that both libertarians and tea partiers have strong beliefs regarding personal freedoms. Seems to me a right to privacy would fall into that category.
There is a lot more shit that happened during that time, but these are just the things that are standing out to me currently.
