As much as I think that Donald Trump has ties to Russia, and that he is/was basically the mouth piece for Vladmir Putin, I think he is going to get away with completely stealing the presidential election.
A lot of signs point to the fact that he is guilty of some shady shit, and just about everyone around him has connections to Russia’s Sergey Kislyak. Please don’t get me started on Trump’s unusual praise for Putin.
For one I find it increasingly problematic that as he ramps up his bombing campaigns in the Middle East, and his threats against North Korea, that the Russian investigation is getting less attention from the media. Without, actively seeking out information regarding it, the info doesn’t readily come up on the Google News home page or any of the many newsletters I subscribe too.
That doesn’t mean it isn’t important, it is still a huge fucking deal, and I’m really disappointed that it has been exiled to the rubbish bin. Most people could probably care less that the U.S. president very likely committed treason. Listening to Matt Taibbi’s new book “Insane Clown President” the thing that sticks out to me the most is that we are now living the “post-factual” era. Meaning we now live in a time, where people could care less about the honesty of politicians, and would rather be entertained.
I was glad to hear that Devin Nunes removed himself from his role in the Russian investigation. Nunes as some may have forgotten, is the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee who claimed Trump was innocent right after he had a secret meeting with White House officials.
This should make me feel good, but now leading the investigation is Mike Conaway (R-Texas), Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) and Tom Rooney (R-Fla.).
All of these guys have expressed their doubts that Trump is guilty, and have made comments to lead me to believe that they aren’t in the least bit open minded to the idea he is.
The New York Times wrote a nice story about Conaway, which leads me to believe he is basically a party loyalist who cums to the thought of Trump’s bad hair, and is a religious whack job. Never mind that he told a Texas newspaper that he thinks Russian hacking is the equivalent of the Democrats having a fiesta to attract Latino voters. God forbid a Taco Bell open up in a white neighborhood because this guy might call in the National Guard.
From Dallas News:
“Harry Reid and the Democrats brought in Mexican soap opera stars, singers and entertainers who had immense influence in those communities into Las Vegas, to entertain, get out the vote and so forth,” Conaway told The Dallas Morning News this week. “Those are foreign actors, foreign people, influencing the vote in Nevada. You don’t hear the Democrats screaming and saying one word about that.”
Asked whether he considers that on par with Russian cyber-intrusions that aimed to damage Hillary Clinton’s campaign, Conaway said: “Sure it is, it’s foreign influence. If we’re worried about foreign influence, let’s have the whole story.”
Gowdy, seems like another piece of shit. This guy when questioning FBI director James Comey seemed more interested in prosecuting journalists then the real task at hand. Rooney, seems the most respectable – but has already begun telling people there isn’t any evidence to support allegations regarding Trump’s ties to Russia.
You see where I am going with this, the whole thing is being rigged, at least that is how it appears to me. The Republicans will be losing Jason Chaffetz who was in charge of the House Oversight Committee. He is retiring next year after he was pressured to basically do his job, which might have been a big win for the anti-Trump movement, but we will see. Losing Devin Nunes also should have seemed like a win, but the three guys taking over come off as total twats who are willing to give him a bye.
Then this happened.
Hooray!!! But not really
DOJ official Mary McCord was supposed to be the one handling this case. Not so amazingly, she decides to retire. Apparently, better opportunities have come along, which if it is the case is totally justifiable. Who can be faulted for taking a better job, but the timing just seems all wrong, or rather very convenient for the Trump administration.
The person that could replace her on this investigation is someone who is being appointed by Trump. That man is deputy attorney general nominee Rod Rosenstein. Apparently, Rosenstein isn’t entirely sure if he will turn things over to someone less compromised.
From Business Insider
“I view it as an issue of principle that as a nominee for deputy attorney general, I should not be promising to take action on a particular case,” Rosenstein said. “I believe that if I were to do this in this case, some future deputy attorney general nominee would be … asked to make a similar commitment, and they’d say, ‘Rosenstein did it — why won’t you?'”
So basically, he hasn’t got the job yet, and he isn’t willing to say anything to piss his masters off. He also isn’t willing to say anything that would piss the democrats off, but by the very fact he is a Trump nominee means that he probably already has pissed them off.
Look, I am speculating a lot here, I won’t pretend that what I am saying is real news or even factual. I am simply writing about my fears, my fears based on the information I read, and how my monkey brain assimilates that information.
Perhaps this Russia thing is nothing, perhaps the best people have been picked to investigate Trump, perhaps he is the president this country needs, but perhaps not.
